The story so far…

Image of surface designer Beck Ng

I’m a surface designer and maker living in Melbourne, Australia, who has a love of creating patterns.

Whilst working as a graphic designer for many years and yearning to create something more tactile, I enrolled into a screen-printing course, which led to start a textiles course and discover the world of repeating patterns.

I started Fabric Drawer in 2012 after travelling and then living in London, spending many hours wondering how to follow my creative passions.

Things started very small and organically, by being involved in a few small craft markets selling products I’d designed and made. Not deterred by the minimal sales, I continued to create my patterns and products and have been part of many design markets in Melbourne. As well as making my own range of products, I also worked with an art agent in America, licensing my artwork on a range gift/party ware and greeting cards. Since flying solo, I’ve collaborated with a range of local and international companies.

Outside of Fabric Drawer, I’m a mum to two daughters, enjoy running and still work as a graphic designer.

Thanks for reading my journey so far.

x Beck
