Beck is a designer and maker living in Melbourne (Australia), who has a passion for designing patterns.
Whilst working as a graphic designer for many years and feeling rather unfulfilled, she enrolled herself into a couple of screen-printing short courses, which led her to starting a textile course and discovering this whole new world of repeating patterns.
She started Fabric Drawer in 2012 after travelling and living in London and spending lots of hours being inspired to follow her creative pursuits.
Things started very small and organically, by being involved in a few small craft markets selling products she’d designed and made. Not deterred by the minimal sales, she continued to create her patterns and be part of established design markets in Melbourne. As well as making her own range of products, Beck also worked with an art agent in American, licensing her artwork on a range giftware and greeting cards. Since flying solo, she’s also collaborated with The Gro Company and Apiary Made, and is looking forward to seeing the client list grow.
Beck’s work has also appeared in Uppercase Magazine, Print & Pattern blog and Flow Magazine’s 2019 calendar.
Outside of design life, she’s a busy mum to two young daughters and she still works and freelances as a graphic designer.
