It was 2010 and I was living in London, thinking about what I wanted to do when I got back to Melbourne. I had all these thoughts and grand plans of designing my own fabric range and opening a fabric store called Fabric Drawer.
Now Fabric Drawer is a place for my pattern designs and illustrations. Whilst working as a graphic designer, I started doing a little screen-printing (and started a textile design course), which led me to discover and love this whole new world of repeating patterns. There’s something about a pretty pattern or illustration that can brighten your day and your surroundings. And I love the idea of bringing pattern into the everyday.
I have started producing a limited range of products designed and made in Melbourne, which I sell at design markets around Melbourne and also online in my Etsy shop. I also license my patterns directly and also license/sell my artwork through an American based art agent A Fresh Bunch.
These days, outside of my design life, I’m a very busy mum to two young daughters, so trying to find design time is very precious! If you are interested in licensing, wholesaling, collaborating or just want to say ‘hello’, I’d be happy to hear from you.
